Create supplier

Request

Use this endpoint to send us the Suppliers data needed for the analysis.

Within Fairly Made data model, supplier data covers all the stakeholders involved in your product lifecycle — from manufacturers and fabric mills to agents, wholesalers, and warehouses. This includes any entity that transforms, handles, or stores your materials and products throughout the supply chain.

Each supplier site in our system requires a unique identifier — this can be your internal code or reference for that specific site.

Key rule: If any supplier details differ, create a separate uniqueIdentifier. This is especially important for supplier groups with multiple locations, as each site needs its own reference since operations and capabilities may vary. You have the option to declare the parent company name at site creation.

During the Supplier Data Collection phase (if applicable), suppliers (excluding warehouses) will be contacted to update, modify and enrich their information directly with us, based on the details you have provided. In that case, siteEmails is required (at least one email) on each supplier so Fairly Made can contact them and launch supplier data collection.

parentCompanyNamestring

Optional parent company / group name.

siteNamestring

Site name of the supplier. Mandatory if you run traceability collection with Fairly Made. When omitted, the created supplier uses uniqueIdentifier as its site name.

siteEmailsArray of strings, (email), non-empty

Site contact emails. Optional for a plain create, but required (at least one) if you run Fairly Made supplier data collection (SDC) — without it, Fairly Made cannot contact the supplier (excluding warehouses) to launch data collection. Each entry must be a valid email.

siteAddressobject(Address)required

Postal address of an entity.

siteCertificationsArray of objects(SupplierCertification)

Optional list of certifications for this supplier site. May be omitted or empty.

Only required fields. Created supplier siteName falls back to uniqueIdentifier.

Supplier created successfully. Returns the full supplier record.
